Meeting Schedule

January 14th, 7:30 PM

Jane Eyre Part 1 and Lattes at Max's Coffee House

We'll be reading Beth's recommended classic literary book up until the wedding. ("You'll know when you get there," she says.)

February 11th, 6:30 PM

Jane Eyre Part 2 and Chocolate Night at Frank's Confectionary

This is the ultimate pre-Valentine's Day celebration; we'll be talking about Jane's love while creating our own chocolate treats! Feel free to make some for the Mr. Rochester in your life.

March 4th, 7 PM

Welcome New Members and Coffee at Max's Coffee House

We'd like to take this session to collect next year's recommendations. Bring your Goodreads and Amazon lists!

May 22nd, 7 PM

Dune and Chai at Max's Coffee House

Since we'll be having one month off, Lizzie recommended we take that time to devour this spicy and exciting sci-fi/fantasy classic. We'll be discussing the nuances of the book over chai and chai lattes!

July 8th, 5:30 PM

Outlander and Scottish Music Lessons at Nolan's Celtic Gift Shoppe

The hot summer is perfect for a steamy romance, even though it's about the cold highlands. We'll be getting FREE Celtic music lessons from local experts; we just ask members to bring donations for the homeless shelter. Pick your choice of bodhran, tin whistle, mandolin, guitar, or fiddle! (Either bring in your own instrument, or pay a $20 charge for day-of use of their equipment.)

July 31st, 11 AM

Harry Potter Celebration Day at Grime's Books

Come in costume, prepare for trivia, and bring your favorite fanfiction recommendations. Lizzie, also known as our very own Professor McGonagall, will be providing butterbeer and pumpkin pasties!

August 20th, 7 PM

Voting Session at Max's Coffee House

It's time to vote for next year's schedule! If you want a say in what we read next year, please attend this session; it's the deciding day for books.

September 1st, 1 PM

Stranger in a Strange Land and Matcha at Omoshiroi Bubble Tea (followed by Laser Tag at Dark Sky Games)

Jake has organized a really great sci-fi celebration day for us, including tea, laser tag, and Star Wars/Star Trek games. We'll settle down to discuss the novel over tea at 5 PM.

October 14th, 4 PM

The Woman in White and Afternoon Tea at the Crandall Mansion

This spooky mystery will bring us into the fall season the right way. Bring in your choice of tea for our annual tea swap day! Also, the local Victorian cosplay group may be joining us for polite and proper conversation.

December 2nd, 7 PM

Novel TBD at Max's Coffee House

Our vote day will decide which novel we'll be reading this month!
